GPO to FDsys–What?
The Government Printing Office–that’s GPO–is moving its GPO Access website to its new Federal Digital System. FDSys (pronounced eff-dee-sys) has improved search capabilities, including field searching, expanded boolean operators and citation searching. The advanced search function allows keyword searching; government publications can also be browsed by type of document, committee or date.
If you use Thomas, the Library of Congress website, you’ll find that it’s links now point to FDsys.
FDsys is intended to serve as a digital preservation repository for official federal government documents. Migration from GPO Access to FDsys should be completed by the end of January 2011.
